Description

Nos 1 to 5 on Church Walk is a late 15th-century timber-framed and plastered building, likely once used as almshouses. It has two storeys, with the upper storey jettied at the southeast front and the northeast end. This features a finely moulded bressummer supported by curved brackets, wall posts, and some remnants of moulded capitals. At the east end, there is a notable angle post with a large moulded capital. The northeast end includes a ground storey oriel window with leaded casements, which has 15th-century capping and support. The front windows consist of casements and horizontal sliding sashes. The ground storey originally had a doorway that is now blocked with a window inset. The roofs are thatched and there are three central chimney stacks.
