Description
The Old Hall, originally built around 1600, was later expanded with an L-shaped addition around 1690. Most of the external features date from this later period and beyond. The building has been restored and is timber-framed, with the south end and part of the east front faced in red brick featuring blue brick headers, while the northern part of the east front is plastered. It has two storeys and attics. The south front has a range of five windows, and the east front has six windows, all of which are mullioned and transomed leaded casements, with several windows being restorations. A raised brick band runs across the south front between the storeys. A former central doorway on the south front has been replaced by a window, and there is a modern doorway on the east front. The roof is tiled and features a modillion eaves cornice, along with three hipped dormers that have moulded wood cornices and leaded casements on the east front. Inside, there are several notable features, including 17th and 18th-century fittings and some wall paintings.
