Description

This is a mid to late 16th-century granary, now converted into a cottage situated 40 metres north-east of Mayland Farmhouse. The building is timber-framed and clad in black weatherboards, featuring a half-hipped roof covered in peg tiles. It has 20th-century metal casement windows and a porch. The interior retains the original massive timber frame and a clasped side purlin roof with halved and bladed scarf joints. The floor joists have central tenons and diminished haunches.
