Description
Broxted Hill is a late 16th century house that features a timber frame and plastered exterior, topped with a red plain tile roof that has both hipped and gabled sections. The building stands two storeys tall and originally faced south, but the main entrance is now on the west side. It has an L-shaped plan, with the south range from the 16th century, a parallel rear range added in the 17th century, and a north wing from the 18th century. The house has a window arrangement of two:one:one, consisting of 19th century double hung vertical sliding sashes with glazing bars and 19th century casements. There is one ground floor bay window and a 19th century gabled porch with a red plain tile roof. The exterior features modern pargetting, along with an original red brick chimney stack and an 18th century red brick chimney stack.
