Description

Flemings Hill Farmhouse is a late 16th-century house constructed with a timber frame and plastered walls, covered by a red plain tile hipped roof. The house has a transitional plan, initially featuring a crosswing that now oversails at the north end. A long wall jetty extends to the front. The front façade has a three-window range, featuring 18th-century double-hung vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars. Two semi-hexagonal bay windows are present on the ground floor. Original and 18th-century brick chimney stacks are visible. Internally, much of the original timber frame is intact, with cambered tie beams and a lodged side purlin roof. The house includes jowled storey posts. At the rear of the building are two pedimented doorcases.
