Description

Everards is a house dating from the late medieval period. It features a timber-framed structure that is partly rendered and partly constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, topped with gabled plain tile roofs. The building has two storeys and was originally a hall house with two cross-wings.

The front of the former hall has an off-centre, rebuilt chimney stack that rises through the front slope of the roof, along with a small gabled dormer that contains a three-light casement window. All the windows on the front have 20th-century leaded lights. The front wall is made of red brick and includes one two-light and one single-light casement window. Each of the cross-wings features 20th-century pargetting on the first floors and a two-light casement window. The ground floors and parts of the flanks are underbuilt in red brick, with the front walls also displaying a three-light casement window.

The rear of the eastern cross-wing, possibly a service wing, has single-storey rear extensions. There is a 20th-century extension to the eastern flank, which is partly one storey with attics, featuring a large dormer and a 'cross-wing' all in red brick, pargetting, and plain tiles designed to match the original house. Notably, the front ridge of the western cross-wing has a 17th-century ridge tile with cresting.
