Description

Willow Farmhouse is a house dating from about 1580, with later additions and alterations. It is a two-storey building. The roof is hipped and covered with red tiles, with a single-storey gable-ended extension to the left. The front is timber-framed and plastered, featuring a long wall jetty supported by five brackets. There are four windows, with bays on the ground floor to the right and left, and a small window to the left of the boarded front door, which has an arched surround. The extension has two windows. A late 16th-century square red brick chimney stack is attached, and a rectangular red brick chimney is present on the left extension. Internally, the timber frame is exposed, showing stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, jowled storey posts, and a side purlin roof. The original construction included a timber chimney stack. A staircase tower is located at the rear.
