Description
The Stebbing Memorial Club, originally known as the County Library and Recreation Room, is a memorial hall built around 1674. It features a hipped roof covered with red plain tiles and is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with a hipped end facing the road. The building displays decorative diapering and ornamental patterns made from black header bricks. A central red brick band runs above the windows on the side walls. The front has two small paned sliding sash windows, and there are three leaded casements on the right return wall, with the front windows equipped with folding external shutters. The central window on the flank wall was previously a doorway. All windows are topped with segmental arches that have timber "heads." A central flat-headed porch is supported by two Tuscan columns, and above it is a moulded brick plaque dated 1674. The entrance features a six-panelled door within a moulded surround.
