Description

Barnston Lodge Stables, located 50 meters north of Barnston Lodge, date from the mid to late 18th century. This two-storey building features a hipped plain red tiled roof and is constructed from timber framing with weatherboarding that has a beaded edge on the original planks. The stables have original panelled doors leading to the harness room and include five stalls with curved divisions, some of which are topped with iron furniture. Above, there is a hay loft, and the original side purlin roof with a ridge board is intact. The floor is made of brick, and nearly all of the original features remain.
