Description

Becket House is an early 19th-century building in Thaxted Town Street, with a painted brick front applied to an earlier structure. The underlying building is timber-framed and has been plastered, topped with a grey slate roof. It extends to two storeys and includes cellars. The front has three window bays, featuring double-hung vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars. A band runs along the front. The doorcases are distinguished by flat canopies, pilasters, and rectangular fanlights. A red brick chimney stack is visible.
