Description
This is a house dating from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 18th and 19th centuries. The front is of red brick, while the rear is timber-framed and plastered, with a hipped roof covered in plain tiles and wide eaves. The house is three storeys high, with cellars, and has an L-shaped plan. Originally, it had five windows, though three are now blocked. The windows are double-hung vertical sash windows. The ground and first floors feature bay windows with hipped roofs covered in plain tiles. The central entrance is accessed via modern double doors set within a rusticated arched surround dating to the 18th century, and is topped with a fanlight featuring interlacing glazing bars. There are two side entrances; one has an arched brick head, a keystone, and a six-panel door, while the other has a segmental head, a keystone, and a rectangular fanlight. It is said to have good interior detailing, including panelling and ceiling beams.
