Description

Nos 2 and 4 Newbiggen Street is a building that dates from the 17th century or earlier. It features a timber frame that is clad in brick and serves as the return front to the Swan Hotel. The roof is covered with red plain tiles, and the front is painted brick. The building has two storeys and a six-window range, with 18th-century double-hung, vertical sliding sashes that include glazing bars. There is also a 19th-century bow window. The door to No. 2 is adorned with reeded architraves and head, along with panelled reveals.
