Description

Aythorpe Roding Hall is a late 16th century manor house that has been altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. Originally, the house consisted of two bays at the northern end, oriented east to west, with two parallel ranges of three bays extending south from it. It features a central chimney stack and an entrance located to the south. The roof was modified in the 18th century to create a continuous north-south valley and is hipped. The entrance was relocated to the east wall around 1960. The building has two storeys and clasped purlin roofs, with beams that have ovolo mouldings. It is situated immediately east of a well-preserved four-sided moat.
