Description

Rose Cottage and Mountview are a lobby-entrance house, originally dating from the 17th century, and subsequently divided into two dwellings. The building is timber-framed and has been plastered, with a tiled roof. It comprises four bays, including a chimney bay featuring a double chimney stack in the second bay from the northeast. The arrangement is two storeys high. Rose Cottage, the northeastern portion of the building, has two 20th-century wooden casement windows on each floor. Mountview, the southwestern portion, has two light alloy windows on each floor. Both entrances are 20th-century additions. The building features jowled storey posts, and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops.
