Description

Tan Cottage is a timber-framed and plastered cottage of two builds, likely dating to the early 16th century or earlier, with later additions. The construction features jowled storey posts and chamfered beams, along with an original arched doorhead visible internally, as well as 18th-century doors and a board ceiling. The cottage is two storeys high with a two-window range of small-paned casement windows. There are two plain board doors, and three external chimney stacks made of red brick. It is possible that one of the builds was originally jettied.
