Description
Cole End Farmhouse is a timber-framed and plastered house that features elements primarily from the 16th and 17th centuries. It incorporates the cross wing of an earlier house, which likely had an H-shaped plan with cross wings on both the east and west ends. The west cross wing remains intact and has a jettied upper storey on the south front. A wing was added to the north of this cross wing during the rebuilding. The house has two storeys and a three-window range of modern casements. The roof is tiled and features an original central chimney stack with diagonal shafts. Much of the carved panelling from the ground storey has survived.
