Description

Whittakers is an early 16th century small house that has had 20th century additions. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building is one storey high with attics and was originally rectangular in shape, consisting of three bays and a chimney bay. There are now modern gabled extensions at the front and a lean-to at the rear. The windows have been replaced with modern casement windows. Inside, the original frame is still visible, featuring stop-chamfered floor joists and jowled storey posts. The original fireplace retains a stop-chamfered mantel beam. The roof has been modernized, and there are red brick chimney stacks.
