Description

This house, now divided into two separate dwellings known as Ring Cottage and Tudor Cottage, dates from the 16th or 17th century, with later alterations and additions. It is timber-framed and plastered, with red plain tiled roofs. A red brick chimney stack is on the right range and a plastered stack on the front of the left range. The house is two storeys high, with a complex plan, and has a roof of two levels with a gable between. There’s a hip and gablet on the left side, and a projecting outshot to the gable. An extension wing was under construction at the time of the last survey. The first floor has a variety of windows. On the ground floor, from left to right, there’s a 20th-century bay, a 20th-century porch with windows to either side, and a 20th-century door. To the right is a section with two windows and a 20th-century door. Inside, large bridging joists and flat ceiling beams are visible.
