Description
Fleece House is a house dating from the 17th century, with a later rear extension. It is constructed with a timber frame and has a rough rendered finish, topped by a red plain tiled roof and featuring a central red brick chimney stack. The building is two storeys high and has a two-window range of small paned vertically sliding sashes. The central entrance consists of a two-panel, two-light door with a simple surround. Inside, notable features include vertically boarded and panelled doors, some of which have HL hinges, an inglenook fireplace with a cast iron fireback inscribed with "1640", "Fairfax", and showing a man on horseback, as well as iron meathooks attached to the ceiling beams in the rear kitchen.
