Description
The former Rochford Union Workhouse Chapel is a mid-19th century building constructed from gault brick with a grey slate roof that features a gabled front. The gable is supported by double brackets and includes a circular window at the apex, which has both circular and compass point glazing. The front wall of the chapel projects slightly forward and is adorned with two tall metal round-headed windows that have glazed margins and stone cills. A central doorway is framed by a painted stucco surround, a frieze, and a dentilled flat canopy. At the time of the last survey, the door was boarded, and there is a fanlight above it. Each side of the chapel has four windows that are similar to those on the front. The rear wall is partially plastered and also features a circular window at the apex, along with central double doors.
