Description

The Thatched Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th or 18th century, possibly with earlier origins, and has undergone later alterations and additions. It features a timber frame with panel plastering and a hipped thatched roof. A central red brick chimney stack is present, along with a 20th-century entrance porch on the left side. The cottage is single storey and has a range of four windows with various casements, each topped with pentice boards. There are doors on the left and right, both with slanting canopies supported by brackets; the right door is vertically boarded. Internally, some of the frame is visible, showcasing jowled storey posts and re-used timber, along with a fireplace from the 18th century.
