Description

No. 10 High Street is a shop and office that dates from the 16th century or earlier. The building is timber-framed and rendered, topped with a steeply pitched plain tile roof. It has two storeys and features a one-window range. The first floor is jettied and includes a low tripartite sash window with one vertical glazing bar in the central light. The ground floor has a 20th-century shop front with two horizontal glass panes and a 20th-century glazed door. Inside, there is an exposed stop-chamfered spine beam and a substantial girding beam at the rear. On the first floor, a central partition of open studwork features a tie beam on jowled posts, with a parallel cambered tie beam adjoining to the rear.
