Description

The house is a timber-framed building dating from the 16th or 17th century, or possibly earlier, with an 18th-century front range and subsequent alterations and additions. The front range is faced with gault brick, while the roof is hipped with red plain tiles. Red brick chimney stacks are present and there is stone coping to the parapet. The house is two storeys high with attics. There are three recessed arches on the front facade. A band runs across the façade at the level of the first-floor windows. The three-window front has vertically sliding sash windows with glazing bars, except for a single-light central first-floor window. Moulded keystones adorn the gauged arches over the windows. A five-step approach leads to the central six-panelled door, which has a cobweb light above. The door is framed by moulded capitals and bases topped by an open pediment with a moulded soffit. A gambrel roof is visible on a rear wing, with a gabled dormer. Inside, there is a moulded open-string stick staircase and moulded ceiling cornices.
