Warehouse, now offices. 1863. Buff stock bricks with low-pitched gabled slate roof. Built beside the Chelmer and Blackwater Navigation for EM Bentall and Company. EXTERIOR: 4 storeys with attics; 3-bay range. All elevations have window bays defined by full-height pilasters, and a string band between 2nd and 3rd floors. The north-west, front, elevation is of 3 bays and windows have segmental heads and C20 metal replacements of 6 large panes on ground and 1st floor, and of 3 lights on 3rd floor. The central ground-floor opening is now an entrance. The south-east elevation is similar; the south-west flank is of 17 bays with 2 rear central bays, on ground floor, having semicircular-arched heads with keystones and recessed doors. The north-east elevation to canal is similar, but with one central semicircular-arched entrance. Metal flue on roof and plain barge-boards as simplified pediment. INTERIOR: not inspected.
