Description
The Limes is a house that has been divided into two dwellings, built in the early 19th century. It features a rendered brick exterior with a hipped slate roof, and has two stacks located behind the rear wall along with a rear lean-to.
The building is two storeys high and has a three-window range, with a monopitched extension at the southeast end. The front facade includes a plain parapet and has a 16-pane sash window on either side of a narrower 16-pane sash window in the center. The ground floor showcases a central projecting Greek Doric doorcase, which is adorned with fluted columns and pilaster responds. It has a flat projecting hood or cornice with a Greek fret variant on the frieze, and a rectangular fanlight featuring a curved triangle between semicircular-pattern glazing bars. There are three stone steps leading up to the door, which consists of two panels over one horizontal panel and two square panels below, all framed with geometric patterns. The soffit above also displays a similar pattern. An iron boot scraper is positioned between the column and pilaster on the flank. At the northwest corner of the rear, there is a flat-roofed 20th-century garage. The interior has not been inspected.
