Description

Fir Tree Cottage is an early 19th-century cottage, extended in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with plastered walls and a thatched roof. The cottage has three bays facing southwest, with a central chimney stack. A small, 19th-century lean-to roof extension forms a catslide. A 20th-century wing was added to the rear of the left corner, connected to the original cottage by a small flat-roofed link. The cottage has one storey, with three 20th-century casement windows and a 20th-century half-glazed door. The roof is hipped. Records from 1846 describe the property as including a house, smithy, and associated premises.
