Description
Luggard's Cottage is a pair of attached cottages that have been converted into one house, dating from the early 19th century. The building is roughcast rendered and has a slate roof, with a rectangular plan facing west and a shared stack at the front pitch of the roof. It stands two storeys high and features a two-window range of original sash windows with 16 lights, made with handmade glass. The right cottage has a four-panelled door, while the doorway of the left cottage has been blocked and rendered over. Each side elevation contains one original sash window with a configuration of three lights above six lights on each storey. At the rear, there is a plain boarded door. This cottage is noted for being exceptionally unaltered for its type. Historical records from the court rolls of Walton's manor, dated 5 June 1837, describe it as "now consisting of 2 newly erected cottages."
