Description

The Cap and Feathers Public House likely dates back to the 17th or 18th century, with subsequent alterations and additions. It is a double-range building, with timber framing and weatherboard cladding on the left return, and rough rendering. The roof is red tiled, with gables facing the road, decorated with bargeboards. Red brick chimney stacks are visible externally to the right range, including a large stack rising from the ridge and a smaller stack on the left range. The front elevation has two windows across the ground floor and two across the first floor. The first-floor window to the right is tripartite, set within an angled bay with a pentice board overhang above the windows. The right return has a four-panelled door set within a slanting porch supported by brackets. A rear lean-to has weatherboard cladding and a grey slate roof, and a one-bay window to the ground floor and a two-bay window to the first floor, mirroring the front facade. A two-panelled door with two windows sits to the side of the lean-to.
