Description
The main entrance gates between Lodge Cottages Nos. 1 and 2 date from the 19th century and are made of cast and wrought iron. These double gates feature side and center panels that are attached to the lodges, supporting the gates and matching the central panels. Each gate and panel consists of six sections adorned with double reversed inverted scrolls, along with daisy and leaf terminals to the scrolls. The tops of the gates have raised scroll work, while the center panels have plain rails. The curved drive leads into a main double avenue of lime trees that crosses a lake and leads to Braxted Park House, creating an important visual feature.
