Description
11 and 12 Holloway Road is a pair of semi-detached houses, which may have originally been a single dwelling, dating from the mid-17th century or earlier. The houses are timber-framed and rendered, with some weatherboarding, and feature 20th-century imitation timber-framing on the front. They have a gabled plain tile roof with a stack located behind the ridgeline.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. Each unit includes a three-light 20th-century window on each floor, with the windows of No.12 being metal. No.11 features a small gabled brick porch and a diamond-shaped window, while No.12 has a fixed window with a central horizontal transom and a 20th-century door. The north-west flank is covered in black weatherboarding, and the roof is of the side purlin type. The rear of the building has two tiled lean-tos.
Inside No.11, the ground floor showcases a large exposed spine beam, smaller square joists, and a fireplace with a timber mantel beam. The interior consists of three bays with no evidence of original internal subdivision.
