Description
Gannets is a house built in the early 19th century, with extensions added in the 20th century. It is constructed from gault brick in Flemish bond and has a slate roof, with shingles used on the walls and roof at the rear. The house features a two-room plan with a central entrance hall and two rear stacks, facing east at right angles to the road. There is an original two-storey lean-to at the back and a single-storey lean-to beyond that, both with shingled roofs and rear walls. The main block was extended to the left in the 20th century, and there is also a 20th-century extension at the rear with shingled walls. A weatherboarded garage is located in the rear angle. The house is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there are two original sash windows with 12 lights each. The first floor has two similar windows and one additional window with 12 lights, all equipped with external louvred shutters. The entrance features a six-panel door, four of which are glazed, set in a flat-roofed porch supported by two fluted pilasters and two fluted columns. The roof is low-pitched and hipped, with lead on the hips and ridge.
