Description
Nazeingbury is a house that dates from the 18th century and earlier. It has a timber frame and is partially clad in brick, topped with a hipped roof covered in red plain tiles. The building has two storeys and attics, with a central section that projects forward and features a pediment. There are three windows, which include casements with glazing bars and 18th-century vertical sliding sashes also with glazing bars. The exterior is adorned with a band, a parapet, and rusticated quoins, along with two gabled dormers. The central doorcase is topped with a pediment supported by acanthus consoles. Inside, there is extensive timber framing from before 1550 and 18th-century details, including a staircase with turned balusters and flagged floors. The original crownpost roof has been replaced with a queen post roof.
