Description
This barn, located 100 meters east-north-east of Shellow Cross Farmhouse, dates from the late 16th century. It is constructed with a timber frame and is covered in black weatherboarding, topped with a gabled corrugated asbestos roof. The barn features a gabled off-centre midstrey on the east side and consists of six bays with a simple crownpost roof and arch bracing. It was likely floored throughout at one time, possibly serving as a granary. There are traces of diamond mullioned window heads, which appear to be made from re-used timber.
