Description

The Crown Inn is an early 19th-century inn constructed of plastered brick and topped with handmade red clay tiles. The building consists of two parallel ranges that are aligned approximately northeast to southwest. It features an internal chimney stack located in front of the ridge of the front range, as well as an external chimney stack at the northeast gable. There is also an internal chimney stack in the rear range near the southwest end. A 20th-century extension is present at the western corner. The inn is connected to a coach house and stable block to the northeast, which is also made of plastered brick and has exposed pilasters and a hipped slate roof. The main building has two storeys and a three-window range of early 19th-century 16-light double-hung sash windows, all set under shallow segmental arches, along with two glazed doors.
