Description

Doves Cottages is a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are timber framed and weatherboarded, with roofs primarily covered in handmade red clay tiles, although some machine-made tiles are used on number 2. The cottages are aligned approximately east to west and face south, featuring a central chimney stack. They are two storeys high. On the ground floor, there are two plain boarded doors set in shallow doorcases with bracketed heads and dentils, along with two double-hung sash windows with 16 lights, typical of the early 19th century. The first floor has two similar windows, plus another window at an intermediate level.
