Description
The Ministry of Defence Building L135, located at the Royal Gunpowder Factory, was built in 1882. It is a tray magazine constructed of English bond brick with red brick bands and features a slate roof over a brick vault. The building has a rectangular plan and is a single storey high. It has 20th-century doors, with entry under a covered porch that retains a hide floor covering fixed by copper nails. There is a small segmental-headed window on the north side and two brick buttresses on the east side. In the 1950s, the magazine was converted into a workshop. The building was served by a now-filled canal to the west and is grouped with Buildings L133 and L136.
