Description
Dormers is a house dating from the late 15th century, featuring an open hall with crosswings. It is constructed with a timber frame that is plastered, while the frame is exposed on the exterior. The roof is made of red plain tiles. The building has two storeys, with gabled and jettied crosswings. The hall roof was raised, and a first floor was added in the late 16th century. The house has a window arrangement of 1, 2, and 1, with 20th-century casements. At the rear, there is a late 16th-century staircase tower, also with a gabled red plain tile roof, and a lean-to extension at the back of the service wing. Inside, most of the original frame remains intact, featuring jowled storey posts, stop-chamfered beams, and side purlin roofs.
