Description
Greenleaves is an early 15th-century open hall house with crosswings, which was altered in the 16th century. It features a timber frame that is partly plastered and partly weatherboarded, topped with a red plain tile roof. The house has two storeys and gabled, jettied crosswings on both the left and right sides. There are three windows, which are 20th-century leaded casements. At the north end, there is a lean-to extension that forms a rear wing. A notable feature is the 16th-century red brick cruciform chimney stack, which has a moulded brick top course. Inside, the original heavy frame is preserved in the crosswings. The hall range was partly rebuilt in the 16th century, with an inserted first floor and a raised roof. There is a large 16th-century inglenook fireplace with a timber mantel, along with moulded bridging joists, a three-centred door head, and crownpost roofs.
