Description
Bilsdens Farmhouse is a house with multiple building phases and a complex layout, now forming a square plan. The rear wing dates from the 15th or 16th century and features a crownpost roof structure, while the front range, built in the 18th century, is clad in brick and painted. The older section likely formed part of the original Manor House. The building is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tiled roof that is hipped to the left. It has two storeys and a five-window range of 19th-century vertical sliding sash windows. The central entrance consists of a 19th-century half-glazed door set beneath a gabled red tiled brick porch. Inside, there are several 17th-century iron casement windows, along with exposed timber and stop-chamfered beams. One of the three red brick chimney stacks bears an inscribed date from the 18th century.
