Description
Nicholas Faulkner, known as The Chocolate Box, is a building that has been converted from a house into two shops. It likely dates from the 18th century and underwent alterations in the 19th century. The structure is timber framed and plastered, topped with a grey slate roof that is hipped to the left. It stands three storeys tall and features a two-window range of double hung, small paned sliding sashes set in moulded surrounds. The shop at No. 149 has a 20th-century shop window, a glazed door, fascia with inverted brackets, and a moulded flat canopy. The shop at No. 147 has a 19th-century part glazed door and surround, along with a glazed shop front that includes small panes at the top. There is also an ornate cast iron vent strip and a moulded fascia above the shop front.
