Description
Cambridge House is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with an 18th-century facade. It is timber framed and plastered, topped with a red plain tile roof. The building has a two-storey central range flanked by single-storey ranges on each end. The central range features a parapet front and has three windows with vertical sliding sashes. There is a central door with an 18th-century pedimented case and a panelled door. The north wing has two windows with small paned casements and one gabled dormer, while the south wing also has two windows of casements and one gabled dormer. Red brick chimney stacks are present, and the rear elevation displays 16th-century jetties. Inside, there is surviving framing from the 16th century and earlier, along with 16th-century linenfold panelling. The soot-stained roof timbers suggest that there was once an open hall.
