Description
This is a 17th-century barn located approximately 6 metres northwest of Shetlocks Farmhouse. The barn is timber framed and weatherboarded, with a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. It has four bays that are aligned roughly northwest-southeast. There are double doors on the southwest side in the second bay from the southeast end, and an original one-bay aisle opposite. A lean-to extension of similar dimensions is found in the northern angle, featuring a continuous catslide roof that covers both the barn and the extension. Additionally, there is a small lean-to shed in the eastern angle, which is roofed with handmade red clay pantiles. The barn includes a high-pitched door on the southwest side of the northwest bay and a plain door in the next bay. Architectural features include jowled posts, arched braces to the tiebeams, and arched braces to the arcade plate over the original short aisle, along with primary straight braces and heavy studs.
