Description
Three Hurdles is a house that dates from the 17th to 18th century. It is a two-storey building with a timber frame and plastered exterior, originally serving as an alehouse. The roof is covered in peg tiles, with a half-hipped design at the south end and a hipped design at the north end. There is a single-storey gabled extension on the south side, which features a contemporary red brick gable stack and an inglenook fireplace. At the north end of the front, there is a lean-to extension also covered with a peg tile roof. The building has 19th-century casement windows with leaded lights, and an off-centre large square red brick stack. Inside, some of the bridging joists are chamfered.
