Description
Westwood Park, also known as the Old Peoples' Home, is a 17th-century mansion constructed of red brick, which is dated to 1692 on one of its rain heads. The west front features two storeys and attics, adorned with three shaped Dutch gables and three shaped dormers. The building has ridged peg-tiled roofs and two groups of four octagonal chimney shafts with moulded caps and bases. The windows are made of stone with mullions and transoms. The south front is highlighted by a two-storey porch that has a Dutch gable, positioned in front of a larger shaped gable. It features centrally located stone doorways with hood-moulds, stone mullion and transom windows, as well as stone hood-moulds, a parapet, and a stringcourse of stone at the first floor level. An armorial achievement is located above the door on the first storey.
