Description

39 and 40 East Street are two buildings with origins dating back to the 15th century, featuring a cross wing at the west end. They are two storeys tall, constructed with timber framing and plaster, and have tiled roofs. The buildings also have cellars. The upper storey projects over the front, with remnants of brackets visible. The windows date from the 18th and 19th centuries, with most being sash windows and one being a casement. These buildings, along with Nos 29, 30, and 32 to 41, form a cohesive group.
