Description

The barn located to the south-east of Payne's Farmhouse is a late 14th-century structure featuring five aisles and a gabled midstrey on the north side. It is weatherboarded and has a roof made of corrugated asbestos. The barn is heavily framed, with arch braces supporting the tie beams and a collar roof. The aisles were partly rebuilt in the early 19th century, and the original passing braces have been removed. The top plate has halved and bridled scarfs.
