Description
Rivers Hall is an 18th-century timber-framed house located on a moated site, featuring plastered walls. The rear wall is dated 1775 and showcases a 'vine-trail' bond of parged decoration that runs around the house at the first floor level. The current elevations date from this period. The front door is centrally positioned and consists of six fielded panels topped by a semi-circular fanlight. It is flanked by two Ionic pilasters and features a dentilled flat hood supported by scotia brackets. On either side of the entrance, there are semi-hexagonal bow windows with pairs of 8/8 horned sashes, each adorned with a vine trail motif along the top. To the right of the door, there is another pair of 8/8 sashes. The first storey includes a range of four pairs of 8/8 panes set in exposed moulded boxes. The overall plan of the house is in an L shape, with a wing extending in the return.
