Description

Cuckoo’s Farmhouse is an 18th-century barn, originally timber-framed and now clad in black weatherboarding. The barn is five bays long, with a central midstrey. The timber construction features posts without jowls, side-girts, and studs that are deeper beneath the side-girts than above them. Tie-beams are supported by hanging-knees, and lapped collars connect to the side-purlins. The walls are primarily wind-braced.
