Description

New Barn House is a 16th-century house located on School Lane, Great Horkesley. It is timber framed and originally built on an L-shaped plan, with a northern extension added in the 17th century. A central square chimney, constructed of red brick, rises from the main ridge. The house has two tall storeys and a ridged, gabled roof covered in peg tiles. The front elevation features heavy wooden casement windows with three mullions and a transom, each window containing six lights arranged as two over two. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top of the front elevation.
