Description

The George Hotel is a building originally from the 15th century, featuring cross wings and medieval cellars that include fireplaces and heavy ceiling beams. The structure was remodeled and expanded in the 17th century. It stands three stories tall, with a timber-framed and plastered exterior, and tiled roofs. The front, dating from the early 18th century, consists of five bays with double hung sash windows and glazing bars. A cast iron balcony runs the length of the front at the first floor level. The George Hotel, along with Nos 117 and 118, forms a group.
